Behind the scenes
Bespoke Model Making & Intricate Micro-Environments for DoorDash “Welcome to the Flavourhood”
MACHINESHOP built a vibrant, highly detailed miniature world for the DoorDash “Welcome to the Flavourhood” commercial campaign. Our model makers crafted the physical urban backdrops and architectural hero pieces that set the stage for a mixed-media universe. We focused on translating the directors’ playful, illustration-led designs into beautifully realised, tactile structures. The final camera-ready assets deliver a perfect sense of depth and charm, establishing a complete physical neighborhood where stop-motion puppets, live-action rod puppetry, and miniature scaling exist seamlessly side by side.
Artisanal Craftsmanship & Detailed Urban Scaling
Constructing stylized city blocks, storefronts, and interior scenes at an intricate micro-scale requires a balance of artisanal model-making, dedicated paint work, and precise scaling:
- Intricate Micro-Environments: Building layered, texturally rich miniature streetscapes that reflect the diverse and colourful culinary identity of the “Flavourhood.”
- Bespoke Storefront Modelling: Hand-fabricating mini architectural landmarks, from local bakeries to vibrant corner restaurants, explicitly tailored to scale for interaction with physical puppets.
- Artisanal Scenic Finishing: Hand-painting and texturing every surface, facade, and tiny street-level detail to ensure the models feel organic and warm under high-definition lens exposure.
